The Yeah Gnar Bowl Jam (Previously known as ‘The Thomson Bowl Jam’) returned last weekend to New Brighton, drawing a crowd of locals, and skaters from around the country who went at it for $10k in cash and prizes across five divisions.

Yeah Gnar is a non profit group founded by Lydia Clark and Lisa Burton, who’ve been doing great things for not only the Christchurch skate scene but New Zealand skating as a whole – notably sponsoring the New Zealand Women’s Bowl Skating Champion, Krysta Ashwell, along with putting up 5k for the Womens section at Bowlzila Wellington 2018 to match the Men’s prize purse. Adding to that, now they’ve resurrected the Thompson Park bowl jam putting on an awesome event which the Christchurch skate scene was needing.
