Boardertown, Morrison Mitsubishi, 137 Video Collection, and Progression Sessions

Hometown:

Christchurch

Local spot:

Washington Way Skatepark

Gun to your head at a mega ramp, what trick would you try?

A 360 over the kicker would be awesome!

What’s one skate spot you would take to a desert island?

Venice Beach. That park looks so fun!

Who do you look up to?

Holly Reynolds, Phoebe Chatterton, and Rose Jenkins. They’re great skaters and are like my big sisters. Also, Krysta Ashwell – she’s my coach and honestly so awesome!

Who else is Good As?

Everyone I know is killing it, but especially Yeva Butler, because she is insane and inspires me so much!

Who should be pro?

Zedyn Fellows. He is so good it’s crazy!

Christchurch Legends:

Krysta Ashwell, Adam Wheeldon, Shaka Wereta, Stu Roper, Will Bartlett, Daryl Collins, Jonny Routledge; there are too many to even name!

New Zealand skateboarding needs more:

Indoor skate parks and vert ramps!

New Zealand skateboarding needs less:

Bad weather and arrogant scooter kids

Most played song on your phone:

Well, I checked my phone, and it’s the Friends theme song [laughs]

Pet peeves:

When people say, “She’s good for a girl,” it’s so frustrating because the level of women’s skateboarding right now is insane. Being a girl isn’t something that holds you back. It should just be, “She’s good,” period.

Pre-skate rituals:

I like to watch skate reels on Instagram to get me hyped and ready for the session!

Three things you have to do each day:

I try to skate as much as I can, but my top three things I do daily are probably cleaning my room – I don’t like things messy. It sounds silly, but I have to make sure my phone is fully charged before going to sleep because I’m scared that if I charge it overnight, there will be a fire. And lastly, give my cat Coco a hug!

A trick you can do with your eyes closed:

360 fly outs – they are so fun!

A trick you’ll probably never do:

Probably something to do with a big rail. I’m not the best at them. (laughs)

What gets you out of bed in the morning? The fear of missing the bus and having to wait ages for the next one!

Most embarrassing situation:

There are honestly too many, but the worst was when I was talking to Mitchie Brusco about famous skaters, and I asked him if he knew Mitchie Brusco!  @melu_blackburn
