Riddled with small-town semi-spots, dork tricks and tonnes of character, New Morning from Te Awamutu’s finest posse of skate bros was the sleeper video of the last few years, and Dan G’s closer is the highlight. The wallride on the police van, THAT double set, the weird transition tricks in fullpipes; could this video have been made anywhere other than New Zealand? It’s doubtful. Despite containing some seriously gnarly skating, Dan’s part manages to exude positive vibes and a sense of fun, which is what it’s all about, really. Well worth tracking down if you missed it. — Dan Bycroft, Manual, Issue 48, 2012.
