Vans have teamed up with Sydney-based skate brand Pass~Port for their third collaboration, this time featuring the iconic Skate Half Cab and Skate Lampin.

For the past 5 years, the Pass~Port Store and Gallery has sat on Sydney’s iconic Oxford St. This strip has long been a hub of energy, music and lust, playing host to various bars, music venues and adult boutiques. Taking reference from these businesses is a way of paying homage to a place and community essential to Sydney’s identity.

Gritty line drawings, bold typography and luxurious materials make up much of the advertising and imagery for these businesses. These elements were used to inform the design of the shoes.

Pass~Port gives a nod to Oxford Street’s gritty and luxurious elements with this latest collaboration. Soft fishnet lace overlaying a dark purple suede contrasts with tough leather and metal eyelets, creating two shoes that on closer inspection, have more to offer than their hard exterior. Contrast stitching, lace embossed foxing, fishnet printed footbeds and ribbed caps reference the scenes that define Sydney’s nightlife.

Completed with Pass~Port and Vans branding which takes the form of subtle glossed embossing and woven labels reminiscent of gritty calling cards and photocopied gig flyers.

The Vans x Pass~Port collection will be available on May 22, 2024, directly through Pass~Port and at select Vans retail locations and skateshops.
