Corona x Manual Present: 24 Hours with Soaked Oats

Posted by David Read on Wednesday August 30 2017

See them play live for free at one of their seven shows across New Zealand.

It’s not always a coincidence when talent comes in pairs. Sometimes it’s in the genes.

It so happens that Manual‘s senior photographer and editor Jake Mein has a lil’ brother Oscar. And that lil’ bro is the frontman and rhythm guitarist for Dunedin-based band Soaked Oats.

In the lead up to their Corona Sunsets tour we spent some time with them in the deep south while they filmed their new music video in Naseby and went snowboarding up at Cardrona with local ripper JJ Rayward.

Be sure to make it along to one of their seven gigs on the tour. Winnie Bagoes in Christchurch is playing host to them this Saturday, Sept 2nd – Check out the event page for details. They’ll be playing alongside fellow Dunedin band Albion Place, with support from Mild Orange thanks to Corona NZ & BirdsNest

All gigs are free entry:

24th August Post Office Lane, Wanaka
25th August Yonder, Queenstown
2nd September Winnie Bagoes, Christchurch
8th September Schuss Haus, Whakapapa
9th September Powderkeg, Ohakune
10th September Astrolabe, The Mount
14th September Kings Arms, Auckland
