The 2016 New Zealand Skater of the Year is…

Manual Magazine is proud to announce that Nicholas “Hootie” Andrewes is the 2016 New Zealand Skater of the Year, as chosen by you, the public in our readers’ poll.

It’s hard to surpass what Hootie produced in 2016. Starting off with filming a near full part for the Mainland Roaming tour, producing a part for the Wellington based video Monachopsis before making the move to Melbourne where he had last part in Onti Goes, along with some incredible footage in The Nike SB Wallop web series. Hootie managed to get photos all year round in every issue of Manual, secured a cover, and in doing so set a new standard in New Zealand skateboarding.

Onti Goes
Not long after making the move to Melbourne Hootie had put together another full part, this time for Colin Evans’ Onti Goes.

Mainland Roaming

This was a tour clip but somehow Hootie managed to steal the show, so Geoff Campbell pulled all his raw and put this together for us. Full Mainland Roaming clip here
