Skateboarding in Detroit: Levi’s DIY Build

Posted by Connor Hill on Friday January 20 2017

Detroit has long been known as a hardworking city, defined by its productivity from motorcars to Motown music. Levi’s® Skateboarding teamed up with locals to help build a DIY skate spot, and will return to Detroit in 2017 to partner on the build of a new skate park.

This piece is a skateboarder’s whirlwind tour of the city and a portrait of its unique DIY build culture.

“You don’t see football players building their own fields, and raising their own goal posts; the beauty of skateboarding, we got it, it’s ours.”
