Dekline Bixby – First Impressions

Reviewed by Fred Shallcrass

Having never skated a pair of Deklines, I am excited to see how these shoes perform. The style of shoe is something relatively new to me having skated cup soles for the last year or so. I’m looking forward to the board feel of the vulcanised sole and the speed the shoes wear in, though I am a little weary of its lifespan, compared to a cup sole. The rubber detail/ollie pad on the side of the shoe should assist the durability. The breathability of this style of shoe, with a single piece suede toe cap, can be an issue but I am hoping that the canvas back panel solves this common problem, by giving the shoe some ventilation.

I’ll check in once I’ve done a few hours in these to let you know how they’re going. In the meantime here are a few looks of the shoe.

Ollie pad or added flair? You decide. Either way, this detail will add more structure and strength to the single piece toe area, and gives the shoe some retro looks.
