A few months back I went on an Analog Trip from Sydney to Newcastle with team riders Jimmy Roche and Harry Clark. Team Manager Sparkes, Leigh Bolton, flow rider and all round good man Big Tony Bull came along for the ride also. The Skateboarders Journal has printed a 12 page article from our trip which will be out in the next issue.
Here are a couple of pics that didn’t make the cut.
Jimmy catches a ‘Queensland pop shuvit’ in one of Sydney’s leafier and more well-to-do suburbs. Sticking it to the 1% by occupying their driveway.
In a country that is practically an enormous desert and dying from the inside out, it sure does rain a lot. Australian’s don’t really know how to deal with rain. The tragic Queensland floods aside, just a sprinkling of rain puts Aussies into a tailspin.
To combat the bad weather, some absolute legends in Newcastle have built their own indoor skatepark with some sort of loose membership program. Basically if you don’t know them, you’re not welcome. Harry Clark avoids both the rain outside and radioactive cave bats by riding up a wall.
Big Tony Bull is my favorite of all the super groms. He’s the best man-child I know. His old man drives the train between Sydney and Newcastle and as they say, the branch doesn’t fall far from the tree. Big Tony Bull loves the railway too. Gap to 5050 in Gosford.
Sparkes and I took a trip down to Melbourne earlier this year to check out the Shocklands Comp, which Tommy Fynn took out. If you’ve ever considered driving between Sydney and Melbourne, don’t. It’s the worlds longest, most boring drive.
I lost my mind. Anyways, we spent the trip telling each other U.F.O stories, eating McDonalds and laughing at road signs. Here are a couple of my favorites.
Here are some lifeys to end on.
Snapey likes to think about things deeply. Here he is, doing just that.
St Karlos de Truell displays his stigmata. Ouch.
Louie Barletta getting salty. Kind of.
