Friday Photo Feature With Sean Aickin

Posted by Jake Mein on Thursday July 7 2011

This month we feature all round legend Sean Aickin, whose skills behind the lens are almost as good as his sneaker collection.

Black Rebel Motor Cycle Club

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club shot at San Francisco Bath House.

Cairo Knife Fight

This shot was taken at the 2011 Homegrown Music Festival. For only two people they create a massive sound.

Die! Die! Die!

This was taken last Friday night at Bodega on a trusty little Olympus MJUII from with in the mosh pit. DDD are one of the best live bands of all time.

Gorillaz

This was the last stop on their first (and potentially last) world tour, during White Flag off of the latest album. Best spectacle ever.

Mos Def

Someone fucked up (most likely me) and I didn't actually have a press pass for this, so I had to sneak in one of my Olympus MJUIIs and shoot from the crowd. This was the point in the show where he was telling some guy to calm down. It seemed staged.

Razorwyre

These guys rock. As they have just started recording you're gonna have to wait a while until you can rock out with them again.

The Clean

This was also taken at Homegrown. Massive set, massive sound, just massive.

The DHDFD’s

The DHDFD's rivaling Die! Die! Die! for best live band. These guys destroyed Mighty Mighty, and a couple of glasses over heads. That's blood, real blood.

The Mysterious Tapeman

He's mysterious.

The Raconteurs

I've seen these guys twice in New Zealand and they've killed it every time. They are such amazing musicians. And they came down to Wellington even when the Black Keys and Mos Def didn't!
