TOP FIVE

Posted by David Read on Thursday March 11 2010

I was having a few beers with a couple of friends last night and we were discussing what our top five skaters of all time would be. Now, these lists are VERY subjective but we all agreed (well at least some of us did) that these two people should make the list. And if they don’t there’s something wrong with you. Julien Stranger was one… He’s responsible for some of the finest street skating ever and most definitely inspired skaters like Busenitz and Silas Baxter-Neal. The other person was Mark Gonzales, who needs no introduction.

This guy also had a mention, and I hadn’t seen this clip til this morning. Damn!

Gonz, Cardiel, Templeton, Carroll, Howard. Today at least.

What about top five of-an-era? That brings in Penny circa ’94, Rowley circa’ 99. Tricky business this list-making …

I’d definitely go with at least four of that list.

Julien’s gap tail at the end is mental.
    whats he up to!
    so east.

  • YES! YES! YES!

That last tailslide (if you could call it a slide) has ALWAYS been a stand out trick in my mind through the years. Especially for the era 93/94.
Kiddies should hunt this video out!

    Top 5 is a dangerous game…
Too many to name a just a few, more like a top 10.
