The Mount Skateboard Association held the first of what they hope to be many vert jams at the Blake Park vert ramp in Mount Maunganui this past weekend.
The day didnt start off too well because of the previous few days of rain, but the boys managed to dry the ramp out, and the sun came out to give a helping hand too. It turned out to be a great way to spend a sunny afternoon with local band The Rift providing the music, and even a free sausage sizzle.
This ramp was built over twenty years ago and its only with the help of the MSA that it is still standing and being maintained. The ramp is now once again scheduled for decommission in 2011, so the MSA are now embarking on a series of fund raising to try and prevent us from losing such an integral part of the skate community. If you would like to show your support or comments head on over to the MSA site. Keep your ears peeled for more jams and stuff going on- in the meantime, here are some shots from the weekend.
