This week we are bringing you the how-to on a fundamental and super stylish trick. The frontside five-0. In particular on a bank to block, but this advice should translate to a curb, rail, mini-ramp or ledge.
1. Before you start you’ll need some basics in your repitoire. Ollies and 50-50 grinds are a must. If you can’t do either of these take a step back and get those under your belt before you proceed.
2. Approach the ledge with good speed (the slower you go the more likely your are to end up on your arse in pain), and at a slight angle. If you are doing this on a bank or ramp carve a little as you are moving up the bank or transition.
3. After you ollie, or pop over the coping, position your weight over your back foot and straighten or push your front foot forward and hold your board in the five-0 position.
4. There are many ways to do this trick so find your own style and grind as far as you can.
5. Likewise there are many ways to dismount. The ollie off, the turn off or the drop off. You choose.
6. Roll away, after bang (optional) and watch out for puddles.
